For many kids growing up in broken family structures or facing significant hardship, camp is more than just a getaway—it’s a turning point. Breakaway Outreach provides gospel-centered adventure camps where disadvantaged children experience belonging, joy, and the transforming love of Christ. These camps often serve as the first step in a young person’s lifelong journey of healing, faith, and restored hope.
Through summer and winter camp scholarships, we serve young people affected by economic insecurity, family crisis, trauma, parental incarceration, transitional living from domestic violence, and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Our camps are safe havens where Psalm 82:3–4 comes to life again and again…

Most of our campers come from East Tennessee, North Georgia, and Western North Carolina, but sometimes we get referrals from outside of these regions due to the reputation of our camp’s effectiveness in working with trauma-impacted children. Virtually all of the campers we serve through our flagship “Camp Elevate” program would not be able to experience a summer or winter camp without our community partners providing them full or partial scholarships.
Camp is a place of belonging where every child can encounter God’s love, experience life-giving community, grow in social resilience, build teamwork skills, and develop godly character.

SUMMER: sports, recreation, swimming, rafting, hiking, arts, community projects, team building activities, creative talent shows, foreign language learning, and more!
WINTER: many of the same activities as summer camp but with winter themes and lots of HOT COCOA!!!
These overnight excursions help kids grow in social skills, resilience, community connection, leadership, and spiritual maturity. Our summer and winter camps go far beyond s’mores and campfires—they create safe, welcoming spaces where children can encounter the life-changing message of Jesus and experience God’s unconditional love. Each camp builds lasting bridges of trust with young people, opening doors to year-round mentoring relationships, recovery ministries, and support groups that continue to shape their lives long after camp ends.
