Short Term Missions — Breakaway Outreach

GO and SERVE!

Short term mission trips change lives. They can also spark movements that change entire communities. We have a myriad of local ministries in Chattanooga and cross-cultural global initiatives serving urban, inner city, and unreached youth/children with the Gospel.

One of the unique aspects of Breakaway Outreach is that we not only serve disadvantaged youth, but we also disciple them to mature and learn how to serve others. We empower young people with resources and opportunities to go and serve others through short term missions.

You can bring your mission team to Chattanooga to serve our community, or join one of our GoTeams on a short term missions project around the globe. You can also sponsor one of our youths to go on a mission trip!

Some of our short term missions trips involve:

inner city and urban ministry
service projects
juvenile detention center ministries
VBS and backyard Bible clubs for underserved communities
summer camps for at-risk youth
sports camps and day camps
international baseball camps
outreach to refugees and migrants

Our God has a global redemptive mission and His ultimate goal is to gather a family that represents “every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9). When you step into a cross-cultural mission field, you will sense God’s amazing compassion for another culture and you will begin to know Him as Lord of the harvest.

“Before the first year at camp, it was the lowest part of my life. I had lost my mother and sister in a tragic car wreck. I was being bullied at school and was planning to commit suicide when I received an invitation with a scholarship to attend Breakaway camp. I decided to put off the suicide plan and attend camp. It was the best decision I ever made. I gave my life to Jesus at camp and then Breakaway helped me get involved with a local church. My life still has ups and downs but I know now that God has me no matter what.”

“I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Breakaway Outreach. My biological father was always incarcerated and I was sent into foster care. I started camp as a tiny little camper and now I get to serve as camp nurse! I graduated from Lee University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and I am currently working as a Nursery and Postpartum Nurse. Breakaway Outreach is exactly what it sounds like. It’s an outreach of family and community that all come together because we truly care about God’s children.”
