The Adventure Begins Here!

KidVenturez is a Breakaway program offering youth and children enrichment experiences through adventure trips, weekend retreats, and other faith-based excursions.

The “KV” program aims to build faith, shape social resilience, and create mentoring pathways for kids facing hardship.

Some of our KidVenturez experiences have included wilderness retreats, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, outdoor recreation, amusement parks, go-kart racing, sports events, NASCAR races, concerts, aquariums, zoos, museums, discovery centers, cultural exchange, and weekend getaways to the mountains/beach.

Some Benefits of KidVenturez:

    • Creates FUN and lasting memories
    • Offers learning experiences
    • Fosters mentoring relationships
    • Initiates Gospel-engagement
    • Improves self-discipline, confidence, respect
    • Awakens dreams and imagination
    • Cultivates teamwork and community
    • Combats loneliness, depression and anxiety

The KidVenturez program is a refuge for kids facing adverse childhood experiences (ACES), helping to build a child’s self-esteem, restore dignity, and boost social resilience.

We offer KidVenturez scholarships for disadvantaged and underprivileged children in our community. The program has been able to bless kids affected by economic insecurity, poverty, familial hardships, grief, and trauma. Our community is a safe and inclusive place where every child can experience God’s love, encouraging interactions, and meaningful friendships.

These programs are made possible by individuals and community partners who support Breakaway Outreach.

In addition to our local flagship program serving kids across East Tennessee, KidVenturez has expanded to our partnership in the Dominican Republic and is in the process of expanding to the island country of Madagascar off the coast of Africa.

Breakaway’s KidVenturez program has expanded to the Dominican Republic, partnering with our friends in Barahona to offer a weekend adventure camp experience on the beach for children living in the bateyes. Bateyes are villages comprised of mainly Haitian sugar cane workers who live in extreme poverty. Many in the DR are committed to raising the living standards of batey residents through development efforts and community initiatives. We are thrilled to be giving children in these villages—many who have never even had the privilege of leaving the batey—unforgettable excursions that include life-giving community, recreation, worship, Bible discussions, and so much more!
