Breakaway is committed to empowering young people with gospel transformation and holistic development through camps, retreats, adventure programs, and year-round mentoring solutions. 

Summer and Winter Camps

Camp Elevate is our flagship summer and winter camp program for at-risk youth and disadvantaged children, while KidVenturez serves as a year-round adventure program afforded for the same campers. Through trauma-informed care and nearly 30 years of experience serving kids coming from hard places, we are providing safe places where young people can navigate their pain, experience life-change in Jesus, and “breakaway” from cycles of poverty, addiction, fatherlessness, familial incarceration, domestic violence, abuse, despair, and a myriad of other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). These children depend on scholarships from community partners to help send them to camp, which is only the beginning of year-round mentoring relationships in a child’s life.

Mobile Camps

Breakaway facilitates mobile recreation camps which can fit into just about any venue or context. Instead of putting kids on a bus and taking them off to a residential camp, we bring the adventures of camp to them! It’s a “turnkey” day camp that we like to call “camp in a box.” We have facilitated these mobile camps at community centers, school campuses, underserved neighborhoods, and transitional living centers (juvenile detention centers, homeless/domestic abuse shelters, refugee communities, etc.). Utilizing team-building components, recreation, sports, creative arts, and more, these camps engage young people with the Gospel right where they live and do everyday life.

Global Sports Camps

We partner with local churches, mobilize mission teams, and equip indigenous leaders around the globe to facilitate sports camps that empower youth, serve vulnerable children, and strengthen communities. We provide sports ministry training for indigenous leaders around the world through the Breakaway Sports Ministry Academy, which is now available in-person and online. See GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
