Rock Solid Conference 2015

November 20-22 – Camp CUMCITO

Do you sometimes feel like you are alone? That nobody else knows what it’s like to work with your kids? Do those big conferences meet your needs, or are you looking for something more specific to your situation?

The City Union Mission (KC, MO) Camp and Youth Departments will be hosting a retreat November 20-22 at Camp CUMCITO, in Warsaw, MO. We plan to mix lots of great training with fun, food, and encouraging fellowship. If you are interested, please e-mail campworkers+conference@cityunionmission.org.

Counteracting an Entitlement Mentality
Impact of Fatherlessness and some ideas for ministering to people who are dealing with its effects.

This will be an inexpensive training retreat/ conference that will address the specific needs of people who work in Camps and Youth Programs with kids “at-risk,” in poverty, or in inner city areas.

This retreat/conference will be Christ centered, practical, encouraging, and fun! We are committed to sending attendees home with more than just new ideas. We want to help you re-energize to do the work you have been called to.

Fellowship and networking are important parts of the encouragement we each need—so we are intentional about emphasizing these in the schedule.

We believe that unless you are recharged spiritually, the weekend will not have much lasting effect. So, we will spend time together worshiping and learning from the Bible.

Keynote speaker: Tim Cox
Tim Cox is the pastor of Brinkley Heights Baptist Church and the executive director of Street Reach Ministries and Brinkley Heights Urban Academy in Memphis, Tennessee. Tim and his wife Karen are home missionaries and have served in inner-city Memphis for the past 25 years. They have 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren.
