ATV Champion Leaves Tracks in North Ohio Juvenile Centers
May 2006
Quinn Michael was the 2002 Open TT Class National Champion of
ATV racing. He is also known throughout the world as building “tricked”
out four-wheelers and the best show quads. He has been in numerous
magazines with his Yamaha Raptor being featured on the cover of
ATV Sport in 2003.
Quinn has racing in his blood, but he also has a
compassion for incarcerated teens. This past month, he teamed up
with Breakaway Outreach for the North Ohio Breakaway Xperience -
taking the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to the most troubled
kids in the state of Ohio.

Quinn is no stranger to bars himself. He was in
jail years ago when a Gideon’s member gave him a Bible. He began
reading it in his 5x9 cell and discovered the redemptive power of
Jesus Christ behind barbed wire fences. Years later he went on to
start his own construction business before launching a racing career
in the world of ATV racing.
During the North Ohio crusade, the Breakaway team
visited youth facilities that have been described as prisons for
the “worst-of-the-worst” kids in the state.
At one maximum risk facility, over 160 youths responded
to the Gospel and made decisions for Christ after Quinn did his
four-wheeler stunt demonstration and shared his testimony. The superintendent
of that institution told our team that in all his years of working
at that facility he has never seen the young people so engaged in
a presentation as they were with the Breakaway Xperience. To God
be the glory!
In conjunction with the crusade, Breakaway provided
a juvenile detention center ministry training workshop to cultivate
an ongoing follow-up ministry in Ohio youth facilities offering
a blueprint for aftercare, mentoring, and discipleship.

Our team was blessed to have Yul on board for the Ohio Breakaway
Xperience ministering through music and testimony. Yul was locked-up
in a juvenile facility a little over a year ago when he was touched
by a Breakaway TV video production that inspired him to surrender
his life and music to God. This past year he has been living at
the discipleship home of a Breakaway affiliate ministry near Ocala,
Florida.
Yul has been traveling with Breakaway and visiting juvenile
centers in Florida, Virginia, and Ohio in recent months. It is such
a joy watching him grow in the Lord while sharing the hope of Christ
with thousands of other young people like himself. He’s been invited
to do a special concert and share his testimony at a Nascar outreach
in Kentucky later this month.
